Once in a while you happen upon something that really inspires you. For me, this seems to happen in waves. Maybe it happens most when I’m subconsciously looking to be inspired—or maybe it’s just by chance.
In any case, this is how I happened upon Kait Lennon. A friend of a friend of a friend, her feed popped up on my Instagram one day, and I think about five minutes later I reached out to her to shoot.
Kait is a master printer & illustrator, working at Masthay Studios. There, she also runs her own letterpress, print, and illustration operation, The Furnace, out of the studio. I had the distinct pleasure of hanging out with Kait as well as AJ, the owner and artist behind Masthay Studios, in their beautiful, eclectic, envy-inducing space in West Hartford, CT, and I am so grateful to them for welcoming me in and being such lovely hosts.
Here are some of my favorite shots from my afternoon at the studio—I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them. For more information, visit https://www.thefurnaceprints.com/ and https://www.masthaystudios.com/.
