summer dreaming / scarborough, me
December 11, 2018
I’ve been spending some time this week catching up on editing personal photos, and came across a set from a weekend with friends up just outside of Portland, Maine.
We’d hoped for nicer weather for our weekend of beaching and boat rides, but–that’s just not always how it goes in New England! (And now, in the middle of December, I’d kill for those temperatures for a day or two.)
But–there is something so beautiful to me about the beach on a cool, overcast, foggy day. Maybe it’s leftover nostalgia from many failed attempts at a nice day at Ocean Beach while we were living out in San Francisco. Or maybe it’s the quiet, open, uncrowded sands. I’ve never been one for swimming or sunbathing, anyway.
Here are some of my favorite shots from that weekend. Sorry to torture you with beach pictures in December, but…at least they’re chilly ones?
